Solid black soapstone, two feet long, and weighing 165lbs. This piece took me fron 1971-1973 to complete, working six hours a day, 5 days a week. Every single hole is sanded and polished smooth on the inside, where it is also bigger than it's opening would suggest. The sculpture is meant to be understood by exploring its surfaces - feeling its smooth, sensuous contours, but, most especially the various holes. Before an exhibition, I sprinkle it with talcum powder and give it a rubdown to make the holes extra smooth and slippery on the inside. This substantial work is currently available for $125,000 CDN.

Left, front, right and top views.
Note how the bottom left from this
angle (above) resembles a spine
and shoulder. Bulges around
some of the holes can also be
seen as breastlike.

This sculpture is based on the idea of an organic, erotic, meteorite from "Erospace" (A region of the Mind - my mind - your mind - our mind)
