Sapphire is an excellent gemstone choice. Available in several natural colours, it is very hard, durable, and, like diamond, can withstand the heat of a jeweller's torch, should your ring ever need resizing by removing or adding metal to the sizing space at the bottom of your ring.

Some Precious And Semiprecious Gemstones

Natural gemstones, in addition to their beauty, also can be seen to symbolize eternity, as they began to form deep inside the Earth even before life crawled out of the oceans to walk upon the land. During the time it took for Nature to create these gems, dinosaurs could have come and gone. That's how long it takes for natural gemstone crystals to form.

Please inquire regarding stone possibilities and prices. The most durable stones for wedding rings and engagement rings are the hardest gemstones, such as diamond, sapphire, ruby, chrysoberyl, spinel, etc. Next in durability would be aquamarine, emerald, topaz, garnet. Softer stones, such as tourmaline, tanzanite, amethyst, and opal, are better used in rings worn only occasionally. Lifestyle will also be a factor in durability of gemstones.

Dancing Triskels with Stone

A symbol for eternity, the Triskel here is united with a durable precious gemstone of your choice. A blue sapphire is shown here, in a bezel setting, which provides maximum security and minimum maintenance, never needing cleaning as stones in prong settings frequently do.

Please inquire regarding stone possibilities and prices.

Complex-Weave Rings Showing Emerald And Spessartite Garnet

Here you see how I can set a single gemstone in one of my Celtic ring designs that is suitable for stone setting. These examples show the Complex-Weave design. Other of my Celtic designs which can be used for this type of gemstone ring are: the Tree-of-Life, Ribbon-Weave, Drumcliff Dogs, Dancing Triskels, Saxon-Celtic, and Repeating Brentfords patterns. These rings are 7mm wide at the top. At left is set a 5mm emerald, and on the right, a 6mm spessartite garnet. Which stone size do you prefer?

Please inquire regarding stone possibilities and prices.

Complex-Weave Celtic Ring Without Bumpers For Single Stone: Detailed Pricing

Celtic family ring on left, with different birthstones-on right, aquamarines.

All my Celtic ring styles suitable for one gemstone can be adapted to accept 3 small faceted gemstones of equal size. Birthstones are of varying hardnesses, and the softer stones will show some wear before the harder ones will, especially if the ring is worn every day. Harder stones are best for the long-term.

Please inquire regarding stone possibilities and prices.
